Domestic Violence

Illustration dedicated to Women who suffer from Domestic Violence
Words cannot describe the pain I feel every time I read the news about the continuing domestic violence in our country, rape of women and children, husbands beating their own wives in public areas. Moreover, when such articles are accompanied by terrifying videos or photos of incidents, I want to cry for hours because of how unprotected we, women, are.
Due to the immorality of some “men”- despots, about 100 women die every year in Kazakhstan, and about 4,500 more suffer from varying degrees of injury. I consider this a pure reflection of lawlessness and impunity and I want changes! I am a woman and I want to feel safe in my own country!
I decided to express my position through this illustration. I don't want women to feel unsafe, caged in their own homes, as I have portrayed it. Safety is the most primitive thing we should have from birth.
